Our story began only a couple of years ago. We had known each other from Esther’s time in Adelaide, but at that stage we had no idea what the future might hold. Years passed and we crossed paths at various church events, each meeting another small, warm thread in a growing tapestry. Eventually we reconnected more purposefully at the Chaplaincy Convention 2024, where conversations and laughter stretched into the kind of easy companionship that quietly promised more. And as people say, the rest is history. We have navigated a long-distance relationship ever since, treasuring phone calls, visits, and the little rituals that keep two hearts close across the miles. In March, on one of our favourite spots at Mudjimba Beach, surrounded by familiar sand and the steady sound of surf, the question was popped — a perfect moment forged from all the moments that came before.
